Before installing the gate, make sure that the site is clear, and that there are
no obstructions.
The gate can be hung with either Left or Right Hand opening as required without
modification.
Decide on the position of the gates and posts, remove the snap-in slot cover
from the posts, and making sure that an empty slot is to the wall and the filled
slot will be on the hinge & keep sides, secure both posts to the side walls
using the large screws & wall-plugs, fixing at the top, bottom and middle of
each post, hiding the fixings in the exposed post slot.
Please note the following points:- Position these screws so that they will not
foul the hinge screws - slide a plate washer into the slot and insert a screw
through the washer into each hole. Make sure that these screws are not
over-tightened, as this could distort the post - and finally, make sure that
each post is vertical in situ, if necessary, packing out from the wall.
Block up and temporarily clamp the gate in the required position, then make sure
that the gate is vertical, screw the hinges to the appropriate post, concealing
the screw-heads with the cap provided.
Decide on the position of the keep & spacer block, and secure into position
using the two screws provided.
Replace the slot cover which had been removed, then fix the post caps in place
at the top of each post, using a good quality PVC solvent cement to make a
permanent fixing.
