Recreate the Magic of the Silver Screen in Your Bathroom

Recreate the Magic of the Silver Screen in Your Bathroom

Design inspiration can come from anywhere, including films and TV shows. But how can you recreate your favourite film bathroom without breaking the budget? PVC bathroom wall panels are the perfect place to start.

To get you started, we’ve chosen some iconic bathrooms from film and tv and provided a few ideas on how to recreate the design within your own home.

Famous Bathrooms from TV and Film

Home Alone

Anyone who has seen Home Alone will remember the scene where Kevin tries shaving for the first time. The bathroom, which is the backdrop for this iconic part of the film, is a true 1990’s creation.

The walls are a neutral cream which allows the dark marble tops to really stand out. The neutral colour scheme also allows for the use of other strong tones, which can be seen in the green accents of bathroom towels, and the opulent gold mirror and soap holder.
Our white and cream bathroom wall panels are the ideal place to start if you’re looking to recreate this bathroom.

The Shining

The Shining features two very distinct bathroom designs. The first is an eye-catching red and white creation. Every part of this bathroom is red apart from the white bathroom furniture, which results in a colourful and truly unique finish.

The second bathroom combines green and gold. The entire bathroom from the walls and floors to the sink, toilet and bath are all green. This allows the gold accents, including mirrors and a gold painted arch leading to the bath, to really pop creating an attention-grabbing finish.

PVC bathroom wall panels are the ideal way of creating a solid colour base in your bathroom. The size of the panels, plus their ease of installation, means you can recreate this bathroom in a matter of hours.

Jurassic Park

Whilst many of us would not want a wooden shack as our bathroom, we can take some inspiration from the bathroom in Jurassic Park. ‘Nature’ is still a popular design trend for bathrooms. This could be in the colour of the walls, the design of tiles, wall panels or wallpaper, or with the addition of flora and fauna. The result is a clean, bright, healthy bathroom and environment.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

The bathroom in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets reflects the age and aesthetic of Hogwarts School. With dark grey stone walls, wash basins placed in stone columns which reach the ceiling, and floor to ceiling stained glass windows, this bathroom has a dark, atmospheric ambience. Whilst you may not want a room full of dark stone, stone-effect PVC bathroom wall panels can add the illusion of real stone but in a warm and welcoming way.

Pretty Woman

The iconic bathroom in Pretty Woman is dominated by an enormous spa bath. The pink/peach and white tiled walls are the perfect backdrop for an abundance of gold accessories, from mirrors, soap dishes, lights, and candle sticks. White soft furnishings such as towels and bathmats help make the bathroom feel warm and cosy.

Whilst a spa bath may not be within everyone’s budget, the surrounding décor is certainly achievable. Again, PVC bathroom wall panels in a soft cream are the ideal starting point on which to build your very own Pretty Woman inspired bathroom.

Psycho

Psycho may not jump out as the most obvious film choice for bathroom décor inspiration! But if you’re looking for a minimalistic bathroom, this may be the design for you. With small white tiles on the wall and the same on the floor, just on the diagonal to give it added interest, together with white bathroom furniture and accessories, this bathroom is the epitome of stylish simplicity.

Our Subway Wall Panels are perfect for recreating this look and are the ideal alternative to traditional tiles, being easy to install and even easy to look after.

Friends

The bathroom in Friends is a perfect example of how space does not have to limit your imagination. It features a free-standing roll top bath which is the centrepiece of this bathroom. The purple walls and door, together with gold accents in the form of taps and mirror frames, create a colourful, but warm and inviting atmosphere.

Whilst not purple, our Black Diamond Wall Panels can add colour to your bathroom walls, helping to create the same striking finish.
