Celebrating ‘Made in UK’ Day here at National Plastics

Celebrating ‘Made in UK’ Day here at National Plastics

The UK is the 9th largest manufacturing nation in the world, employing over 2.7 million people - and on the 9th of March we celebrate ‘Made in UK’ Day, a day specially created to commend all those businesses and individuals who are proudly manufacturing here in the UK.

Here at National Plastics we celebrate Made in UK Day every day and are extremely proud of our Made in Britain badge. But what does Made in UK really mean for you, our customers?

Supply security

Imported products often come with supply chain issues, such as potentially damaged goods and longer lead times. As we manufacture our products in the UK, we have much more control over our supply chains. This enables us to ensure continuity and reliability of supply, in terms of availability and guaranteed delivery. It also helps us to reduce our lead times and offer smaller minimum order quantities – things we know are crucial to you and your business.

Lower carbon footprint

A product’s carbon footprint is becoming more important to everyone. By manufacturing and selling in the UK, our goods have fewer miles to travel, which lessens our reliance on international transportation and reduces transport costs for you

We are also working hard to lower our manufacturing carbon footprint and ensure our products are as eco-friendly as possible. This is being achieved, in part, by manufacturing here in the UK and having greater control over our business processes. In doing this, we hope we are providing support to those customers who are looking to improve their own environmental credentials and lower their carbon footprints.

Guaranteed quality

For us, manufacturing our products in the UK means we have better control over the component materials we use, our team, and the processes we employ to create our goods. Overall, this means we have greater control over the quality of our final product. We also have more freedom in terms of product development and the ability to offer a wider range of products.

Investing in the UK

We appreciate that for some companies, manufacturing products abroad may be the cheapest option. But we’re proud that we’re investing in the UK economy, as well as providing employment opportunities for British workers.

We hope that you recognise that partnering with us helps you fulfil your own social, as well as environmental commitments.
